Mali Hirsch

A career built around
understanding people.

After serving in the Air Force, I studied Early Childhood Psychology. Learning about human behavior—and the science behind our actions—became a foundation for how I approach design.

My curiosity about technology led me to teach myself HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I began my career as a frontend engineer, developing websites for Fender, before discovering that user experience design brought my interests together.

Since then, I’ve spent two decades designing products across industries, from startups to enterprises. My work connects human behavior, product thinking, and the practical details of making software.

DESIGN BACKGROUND / TECHNICAL FOUNDATION

One practice.
Multiple perspectives.

I move between understanding a problem, shaping an experience, and making an idea tangible enough to learn from.

Product design

Senior product design work at Aidium and Vivun, and lead product design for Marriott Experiences. Research, interaction design, and collaboration across product and engineering.

Engineering roots

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript gave me a practical understanding of how interfaces are built. That foundation informs my prototypes and conversations with engineers.

Building with AI

I work with Codex, Claude Code, and other AI development environments to make working prototypes, explore automation workflows, and bring design intent closer to implementation.
